One of the more irksome things about television is that shows that are critically acclaimed and treat music as an art form (rather than a fashion show) generally don't survive. This is particulary true of two of my favorite music shows both of which died untimely deaths: "Night Music" with David Sanborn and Jools Holland, and "Sessions at West 54th". "Sessions" had a truly brilliant performance by Pat Metheny in their second season and "Night Music" had a mind blowing pairing of a Chapman stick player, Taylor Dane and David Sanborn all jamming on Stevie Wonder's "Superwoman -- Where we you when I needed you". Can't get 'em. Aarggh!
