Hrecommended: The 2005 H-list*
Some suggested holiday gifts for friends and family:
- Candela lamps -- cat-safe mood lighting, illuminate your jack 0' lantern, stick 'em in the window during the holidays, great for power failures
- Casio Waveceptor wristwatches -- the least expensive (and best looking) radio-based automatic time setting watches I've found
- Swiss Army Knives (my current favorite is the Swiss Memory which includes a removable USB memory stick, the 1gig models have a white LED)
- Land's End Marinac jackets and vests -- windproof, water resistant, breathable and lots of pockets.
- Buff headgear -- I have a microfiber model and a polar buff which has a couple inches of fleece on it.
- Magazine subscriptions from Utne Reader, Paste, Art in America, Sojourners, I.D.
- Cosmo Dogood's Urban Almanac
- Peace Buttons -- great stocking stuffer
- Canon Digital Cameras -- small size and great pictures. Check out the S2 IS and the SD30.
- Sketchbooks and Journals -- sometimes a gluestick, scissors and a fistful of pencils works better than ColdFusion
- Journal to the Self by Kathleen Adams -- what to do with those blank pages
- Getting Things Done by David Allen
- Great Arrow Greeting Cards -- silkscreened and stunning
- Zen Clocks -- these work as yoga/mediation timers and alarm clocks. They have a very pleasant ring.
- LaptopLunch boxes, Wrap sacks, WrapNMat
