Hrandom comment to the Ann Arbor News on the Chicago Nightclub incident...

I hope the tragic events in Chicago are used as an opportunity by our local bars, dance clubs and other businesses to review:

-- opening procedures with staff to ensure that all fire exits are clear of debris, unlocked and working freely during business hours.
-- maximum occupancy levels and proper procedures for denying admittance with door personnel.
-- patron alcohol management policies with waitstaff and bartenders.
-- security procedures for dealing with unruly guests early and in a safe and contained manner.

and an illustration of what can happen if these principles are ignored.
